Power BI – February 2025

Version Updates

Once again, there have been some small new updates released for Power BI in February 2025. This time it’s mainly updates regarding AI/Co-Pilot functionality and some reporting and modelling updates.

AI

Co-Pilot and AI

  • Suggested Questions
  • Copilot in mobile
  • ‘Show Reasoning’ Update
  • Explore data (from Copilot)

Reporting

1.  Further improvements to Visual Calculations

As with the past version updates  another improvement has been added to the Visual Calculations. This time it’s the addition of conditional formatting.
It is now possible to add conditional formatting using visual calculations. So it’s now not only possible to to conditional format visual calculations themselves but also possible to use visual calculations as a basis to format other fields. This can even be done with hidden visual calculations.

Modelling

1.  Improved performance for modeling in live editing of Direct Lake semantic models in Power BI desktop. You can expect an improvement of at least 50%!
