Tableau – August to November Release- 2025

Version Updates

Normally Tableau does 3 big releases per year. However, this year they’ve also done (small) releases each month from August to November. These are mainly focused on Tableau Next though.
At this moment,  the third release features are already visible but have not yet been released.

1. Tableau August 2025 Release Features

For the August release, there were mainly some additions to Tableau Next and Tableau Pulse. All these features have been made GENERALLY AVAILABLE in Tableau Next and Tableau Cloud.

• Data Pro – Tableau Next (Agent that helps with Data Prep, Data Visuals, Building Semantic Models,…)
• Slack Integration – Tableau Next
• Visual Enhancements – Tableau Next
• Threshold Alerts – Tableau Pulse

2. Tableau September 2025 Release Features

In September the main focus was Tableau Pulse. These features were made GENERALLY AVAILABLE for Tableau + and Tableau Cloud.

• Enhanced Q&A AI
• Correlated Metrics Insights: try to find relationships between metrics.
• Date Updates: Rolling time range, dynamic dates for KPI
• Tableau Pulse & Agent will use the geographically closer LLM provider.

3. Tableau October 2025 Release Features

The October release also only contains Tableau Next and Tableau Pulse features that have been made GENERALLY AVAILABLE.

• Inspector – Tableau Next (Agent that helps with monitoring metrics and sending out alerts and insights based on thresholds (BETA).
• Slack Enhancements – Tableau Next
• Visualizations – Tableau Next
• Time-Based Forecasting -Pulse

4. Tableau November 2025 Release Features

Almost all of the following Tableau Next features are GENERALLY AVAILABLE.

• MCP Server – Tableau Next: create and use custom AI Agents (BETA)
• Published Data Sources, Tableau Semantics – Tableau Next
• External Embedding with SDK – Tableau Next
• Concierge – Tableau Next (Agent who is able to answers questions and provide visuals based on conversational cues)
• Further Visual and Dashboard Enhancements – Tableau Next
